There is a new Great Throne; men may die, but the Church is everlasting. It wasn’t until I wrote this scene that I started giving serious thought to who the new Great Throne was, and what he must think of Hunter. I mean, Hunter KILLED his predecessor…but he also made him the most powerful man in the world (or certainly a contender for the “throne.”) By the way, I chose to call our version of the Pope “The Great Throne” specifically because there is a “rank” of angels called the Thrones. I take inspiration where I can get it.
