I really should be ashamed. It surprises me that it’s taken me this long to use the name “Elynaire” in this comic. (Honestly, I’m not sure if I’m spelling it right. Oh well, this is how it’s spelled in Hunter Black.) Elynaire was the name of the goddess of love in my college D&D campaign. She was created by the only person with whom I’ve ever regularly played D&D and subsequently lost touch. He and I couldn’t have been more different at first blush, but we were both writers and we each created one of the iconic characters in that campaign. (Elynaire was the goddess…”Alystaire” was the priest. He was the Friar Tuck to my character’s Robin Hood, I guess.) I wish I could have reached out to him to ask for permission to use the name, and I hope he’ll accept this shout out to him.
