To be clear, Thylian’s Curse is a real (air-quotes) thing — wielders of magic will eventually detonate if within range of one another. The Thirteen wizards are those adept enough at their wizardry to devise ways to overcome the curse. That’s how Jusadva managed to survive being held captive in Al-Dahan way back when. (I’m surprised that no one ever called us on this before…I must’ve explained this all before.)
