The Wooden rounds are intended to eliminate the brave yet inexperienced or the old and slow. The Steel Rounds are where the action is. Historically, this is where the upsets have occurred. (Yes, I know that. And it will likely never come into play.) Only swords of Skysteel are able to reliably hold enchantments…and the Skysteel rounds are where the magic is supposed to happen. Traditionally, eight people make the Skysteel rounds, to reflect that there are eight schools, and have been for quite some time. This Tourney marks the first time in centuries that one of the schools in the competition is GUARANTEED to miss the Skysteel rounds. By the way, we have briefly seen Hadrian Jorus before, on Page 64.
