Speaking for myself, if you want to see evidence that Will’s stepped up his game over the three and a half years that we’ve been doing this comic, look no further than Panel Two. I sometimes suggest interesting perspectives or viewpoints, and back in the day, Will would often go in a more straightforward direction. In this case, my description for Panel Two literally reads as follows: “Hunter and Jasoom leap out of the hole.” That’s it. That’s all I wrote. The shot of the hole from the worm’s eye view, with Hunter and Jasoom’s legs and feet adds so much to the sense of chaos in the image, and I have to believe that it’s a more challenging composition to get right. (I could be wrong…what do I know?) I love it when we’re able to elevate each other’s work, and I love seeing how Will’s style has evolved in subtle ways over the years. (Panel Three is pretty awesome too.)
