This is one of those moments when I’m struck by how awesome Jacob, our letterer, is. An editor once said to me that the secret to good lettering is when you don’t notice it. I’m just now noticing the SFX in the first panel. They’re a SEAMLESS part of the image to my eyes. You have no idea how much we rely on Jacob. His best work may not always be noticeable…but it certainly is appreciated. Sometimes, I feel guilty about pages like this. So little happens on the page, but it’s a moment that we really need.
