When I wrote this, I was definitely envisioning a grate that was at least roundish — maybe octagonal? Whatever was in my head, it wasn’t a tiny rectangle. But I didn’t describe the grate in my script — I try to not over-describe too much. Let Will be Will when it comes to deciding what things look like. It’s worked out for us so far.
